The Toledo Police Department is looking for qualified men and women who are interested in a law enforcement career, and are genuinely dedicated to providing the best in police services to our community. While the department is not currently accepting applications, interest cards are being accepted at this time. Minimum Requirements                                             
- Applicant must be between the ages of 21 and 34
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma or 
   GED equivalent at the time of application
- Applicant must be a resident of the City of Toledo
  upon appointment.
                                                                                            

How to Qualify
- Applicant must pass a written civil service examination
- Applicant must pass an extensive background investigation
- Applicant must submit to an oral interview
- Applicant must pass a complete medical and
   psychological examination/evaluation
- Applicant will be required to pass a physical agility test.

Physical Agility Test Standards For All Police Officer Candidates
- 1.5 mile run to be completed within 15:14 minute
- 300 meter run to be completed within 64.07 seconds

- 22 push-ups (no time limit)
- Bench press 61% of body weight with one repetition

Salary (effective 01-01-08)  
- Trainee     Hourly Rate: $20.63 Yearly Rate: $42,927
- Probation Hourly Rate: $21.92  Yearly Rate: $45,608
- One year  Hourly Rate: $23.21 Yearly Rate: $48,291
- Three years Hourly Rate: $25.79  Yearly Rate: $53,657

The Toledo Police Department is also seeking qualified men and women to serve as communications operators and police records clerks.  These positions provide the opportunity to work for the Toledo Police Department in a non-sworn capacity.  Communications operators and clerical personnel perform critical functions necessary for the Toledo Police Department to accomplish its mission.
