The Toledo Police Foundation was established as an independent, nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization in October of 2018. It is an alliance of business and civic leaders, the Toledo Police Department, and members from the community that are committed to the ideal that an educated, well-trained, and modernly equipped police department leads to a safer community for all.

The mission of the foundation is to assist the Toledo Police Department by providing resources that cannot be readily supported through public sector funds. The foundation funds programs that are intended to enhance public safety and help build stronger relationships between the community and members of the Toledo Police Department. The foundation invests in community projects, special equipment, advanced training, new technology, youth outreach programs, and officer wellness.
