Lieutenant Kellie Lenhardt commands the Toledo Police Public Information Section. 

The Public Information Officer has to respond to major incidents day or night to keep the community informed. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the media on all issues concerning TPD, newsworthy incidents, and crime within the community.

  • Advising the community of any internal investigations of TPD members or other major announcements from the department.

  • Promoting the department's annual goals and objectives throughout the community.

  • Using social media to reach out to community members and provide information, as well as monitoring for crime tips.

  • Preparing press releases and organizing press conferences for the Chief.
